2025-26 Coaches Registration Information
NEW THIS YEAR
If you plan to coach with STMAYHA, you must complete the Coaches Registration and submit updated certification information (via USA Hockey).
All coaches are required to complete Steps 1–5 before having any contact with players—on or off the ice, including tryouts.

Note: Your name will appear on the list only after you’ve completed your STMAYHA Coaches Registration.
Coaching Requirements
Step 1: USA Hockey Registration
You’ll need your unique USA Hockey Coach Confirmation Number for the current season—this is required to complete all remaining steps.
Click the USA Hockey Membership Registration button below and select Player/Coach as your membership type.
Step 2: STMAYHA Coaches Registration
Click the STMAYHA Coaches Registration button below.
Step 3: Background Screening
USA Hockey requires background screening every two years. STMAYHA will reimburse this cost for coaches who are successfully rostered on an STMAYHA team by December 1, 2025, and who remain in good standing (not redlined) throughout the season.
Not sure if you need a new background screen this year? Click the button above to log in to your USA Hockey Coach Profile. Then click My Profile and Coaching Information. Your background screening status will be listed in the Screening section.
Step 4: SafeSport Training
USA Hockey requires SafeSport Training to be renewed every 12 months. Renewal becomes available 60 days before your expiration date. If your certification expires, you will be ineligible to participate as a coach until it is renewed.
To renew or check your SafeSport status, follow the link below and log in to your USA Hockey Coach Profile. Then click My Profile and then Coaching Information. The SafeSport Section will show your status and expiration date.
If your registration is set to expire mid-season, USA Hockey will send a notification email to the address on file in your account.
Step 5: Concussion Training
USA Hockey requires Concussion Training every two years.
If your concussion training is due for renewal, please complete it using one of the approved options below.
Then upload proof of completion to your coach profile on the STMAYHA site.
Approved Training Options:
- USA Hockey age module
- The Center for Disease control (here)
- National Federation of State High School Associations (here)
- Training provided through other youth sport program
If your concussion training is not due for renewal, no further action is required.
Step 6 & 7
The remaining steps must be completed prior to District 5 rostering:
- Travel Teams: by October 2025
- Mite Teams: by November 2025
Step 6 CEP Certification
USA Hockey requires all coaches to have an active CEP (Coaching Education Program) certification.
Exception: If you are coaching Mites/8U only, you are required to have a Level 1 CEP, but it may be expired.
Important: USA Hockey only offers CEP Clinics through mid-December.
If you do not sign up for and attend your required clinic by December 1, 2025, you will be ineligible to be on the ice after that date.
If you need to complete the next level of CEP training, click the link below to sign up.
Note: You may register for a virtual clinic offered in any state.
Once you have registered, please upload proof of enrollment—including your name and fee amount—to your coach profile on the STMAYHA site. (how-to)
Not sure when your CEP certification expires? Follow the button below to log in, then click My Profile and then Coaching Information.
At the top of the page, you’ll see your CEP Number, Level, and Expiration Date.
Step 7 USA Hockey Age Module
USA Hockey requires completion of an Age-Specific Module for each age group you coach.
If you need to complete a module for your assigned level(s), click the link below—or access it directly through your USA Hockey Coach Profile—to register for the appropriate training.
Not sure which Age Modules you’ve completed? Follow the link below and log into your USA Hockey Coach Profile. Click My Profile and then Coaching Information.
Your completed Age Modules will be listed in the top right section of the page.
2025-26 Coaches Registration
Coaches Registration will open July 15, 2025 through December 1, 2025.

All coaching requirements must be complete by December 1, 2025. Anything after December 1, 2025 will not be reimbursed.
