Welcome to the STMA/RiverHawk Travel Hockey Page. On the following pages you will be able to complete the registration process for all players. This registration will allow you to provide contact information, sign consents and submit payment. Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or checking account information available. Upon completion of registration, a charge from STMA Youth Hockey will appear on your account. Offline payment options are also available – further offline payment details are outlined on the receipt page.
STMA travel hockey provides programs for boys and girls ages 9 to 15. Players must be 9 by June 1, 2021.
Girls and boys will play separate from each other, however their level structure will be similar.
We have 4 levels of play within the travel program.
Level Breakdown for 2021-2022
- Squirt / 10U: Youth ages 9-11, born June 1, 2010 - May 31, 2012. Teams are structured with A, B1, B2 & C levels.
- PeeWee/12U: Youth ages 11-13, born June 1, 2008 - May 31, 2010 and is non-checking. Teams are structured with AA, A, B1 and B2 levels.
- Bantam/14U: Youth ages 13-15, born June 1, 2006 - May 31, 2008. Bantams are able to check at this age level. Teams are structured with AA, A, B1 and B2 levels.
- Junior Gold: Youth ages 15 and 16, born June 1, 2004 - May 31, 2006 as an alternative to high school junior varsity.
Pre-Season clinics will begin in September, exact dates TBD.
Tryouts for travel teams are TBD.
Season runs from through beginning of March.
All primary ice time is located at the STMA Ice Arena, with occasional ice time located at the Monticello, Moose Sherritt Ice Arena.
Ice times and schedules are structured to maximize ice time as much as possible. Times are rotated at all levels and teams. Peewee/ Bantam/12U and 15U levels have the potential of utilizing morning and later evening practice times.
STMA / RiverHawks participate in league play, district and regional play-offs through MN D5 Hockey.
Each skater will receive a light (home games) and dark (visitor games) jersey that they will keep at the end of the season. Last names are not to be printed on the back of the jerseys. Players will also receive coordinating socks for each jersey.
2021-2022 cost structure is TBD at this time.
Each traveling team will be scheduled four tournaments.

When do they play?
The season runs from October through March.
The schedules for hockey are different every week. There is no set schedule. Mites (9 and under) play in-house and traveling players play around the north and west metro along with tournaments around the state. There is no in-house program for 9 and above.
When do we get the schedule?
Schedules generally come out every 2-3 weeks. Games and tournaments are known ahead of time.
Do you provide equipment?
Unfortunately we no longer provide equipment.
What if we don't pay?
Skaters will be removed from the ice until payment is made.
What if my child decides against participating?
STMAYHA will offer a refund minus any ice hours used.
