LEARNING TO SKATE
STMAYHA Learning to Skate Clinics teach children the fundamentals of ice skating through a progressive curriculum, giving them the foundation necessary to reach their goals in both recreational and competitive skating. Learning to Skate provides basic beginner level ice skills and no prior experience needed.
Kids will need skates and hockey or bike helmet (No hockey sticks or equipment).

Boys and Girls ages 4 and up
Kids will be divided into small groups depending on age and skill level.
When
Learning to Skate includes 4 sessions at STMA Arena:
10/22/23 4:15-5:15 pm
10/29/23 4:15-5:15 pm
11/5/23 4:15-5:15 pm
11/12/23 9-10 am
If minimum class quota is not met, classes may be cancelled or combined.

How early should we arrive?
Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to tie skates and get ready to get on the ice.
What if we change our mind after registering?
There is no pro-rating of registration fees for missed classes and no refunds once sessions start unless approved by the Skate Director.
What kind of equipment do we need?
Helmets (hockey helmet or bike helmet) and skates are required and skaters should wear warm pants, jacket and gloves. No hockey stick or other equipment is needed. Sticks and pucks are NOT allowed. STMA does not provide rental skates.
Skates should have sharp edges to make it easier to skate. No double-blade skates allowed.
Can I help my skater on the ice?
For the safety of all our skaters and coaches, parents are not allowed on ice during lesson times.
